Kindergarten Enrollment Video Playlist
Below is a playlist of four videos that will guide you through kindergarten enrollment. Please watch each of the videos to help you and your family prepare for kindergarten at The Vanguard School.
Preparing Your Child for Kindergarten
Below you will find our K-6 curriculum map, sample schedules for full-day, parent badge information, and skill prep materials.
These resources are designed to help you and your child prepare for kindergarten! Rest assured that our teachers are prepared to meet your child wherever they are, regardless of their ability level in skills such as reading, writing, and math. Please use the kindergarten checklist and reading prep materials below at your own discretion and have fun with them!
All Vanguard parents are required to wear a photo ID badge when on school grounds. Please email your photo to our front desk secretary, Janell Aparicio, to begin the process of creating your parent badge. You will be contacted before the start of the school year regarding when your badge will be available for pick up.
Photo submission guidelines:
- Please email your photo in a JPEG format.
- Please title your file with the name you wish you wish to appear on your parent badge.
- We STRONGLY encourage matching your parent badge name to the name on another government-issued ID that you regularly carry (i.e. driver’s license, military ID, etc.)
- If you are emailing multiple photos, please be sure to upload each photo separately and name them appropriately for each person.
- Be aware that only people who a parent/guardian has listed as another parent/guardian will be issued a parent badge.
- Photos should be of one person only, against a plain background, and devoid of distracting/obscuring clothing (no sunglasses please).
- Feel free to smile, but no silly faces. We need to be able to recognize you!
