What grade should I sign up for testing?
Please sign up for the grade your child will rise into for the 2023-2024 school year. The topics for the rising grade are what their current Vanguard peers have reviewed. Kindergartners are not required to take a placement test.
What subjects are covered on the test?
Reading, Writing, and Math
What do we need to bring?
We will provide the pencils and scratch paper your child will need for the test.
ONLY applicants for grades 10 and 11 will need to bring a copy of their current transcript to their placement test appointment.
Can my child use a calculator?
No calculators or any other types of study aids are allowed.
How soon will we hear back?
It could take up to two weeks for the Test Review Committee to reach out to families with an electronic notification of your grade placement.
May we take the test again?
Yes; however, there is a maximum of three retests and a minimum of four weeks of review before another can be scheduled.
